it is just too hot for audiobox's mild trim settings on it's own. it is a passive EMG ALX with onboard EQ and a +20 db boost (switchable). one of my guitars is completely unusable with the audiobox without a DI box with the pad on. I would venture to say the active EQ and bass boost of the instrument is too hot for for the input since the audiobox has only +/- 10 db gain adjustment. I know I can make up for it by turning the gain up on the interface, but I like to keep the instrument volume all the way.
